In line with corporate responsibility, Councillor Enriquez and Atlantic Bank Limited embarked on a financial literacy campaign.

Overall, the goal is to equip the students with essential life skills to contribute to their long-term financial well-being and success. By instilling fundamental money management skills, such as budgeting, saving, and responsible spending at an early age, the youth will develop the ability to make informed financial decisions and avoid common pitfalls like overspending and debt accumulation.

During a courtesy visit, Mayor Pablo Cawich met with Luis Luke Martinez, the President of the National Trade Union Congress of Belize (NTUCB), and representatives from the Christian Workers Union (CWU), including President Leonora Flowers, Treasurer Ella Waight, and Chief Union Rep. Tricia Pelayo.

Among the discussions held was the matter of the pending Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Belmopan City Council and the CWU.

Mayor Pablo Cawich met with representatives from the Japan International Cooperation Agency(JICA), Tachihara Yoshikazu, Resident Representative, Mr. Namiki Ryo, Volunteer Coordinator, and Marvia C. Dubon, Administrative Officer.

The main focus of their meeting centered on advancing environmental education initiatives, particularly emphasizing waste separation at its source, tailored for elementary-level students.

The discussion extended to the provision of garbage drums to schools within Belmopan, initiating a “reduce, reuse, and recycle” program. Emphasizing sustainability, the meeting also underscored the importance of capacity building, aiming to empower our staff and community through training initiatives.
