Want to obtain a liquor license?
Process:
- Obtain approval of a Trade License only if business is in the City of Belmopan.
- Submit four (4) completed Liquor License application as specify in the Intoxicating Liquor Act Chapter 150 to the Belmopan City Council, Public Health Department, Police Department and Fire Department and for the villages applicant an additional application to DAVCO office
- Publish in any national Newspaper intent to apply for a Liquor License, attached clipping of Ad with completed application form
- Before consideration by the Liquor License Board an inspection to be conducted on the premises by Public Health Inspector, Police Department, Fire Department, Department of Environment and City Council Engineering
Finally…
- Meetings are held quarterly: January, April, July and October yearly as stated in the Intoxicating Liquor Act Chapter 150 (17 (1)), if any application is receive between this time applicant can pay a fee of $100 for a Special Meeting; if they intend to open and do not want to wait until the next quarterly meeting.
- After approval payments are made at the Belmopan City Council for Liquor License holder in the City of Belmopan and for the Villages payments are made at the Sub-Treasury as to the amount stated in the Intoxicating Liquor Act Chapter 150 (3)
- A Liquor License Certificate is issue for license holder to display in establishment
- Liquor License should be renew yearly

An invoice is then created
Pays at cashier
Return at Traffic to pick-up renewed driver's license
*Note: Customer can renew driver's license 30 days before expiration date.
