Campbellsville University Honors Madam Mayor Sheran Palacio
 
Today June 14, 2023, a ceremony was held beneath the trees at Independence Park in the Capital City of Belmopan. At the event, Dr. Jason Meriwether, Vice President for Enrollment Management delivered an award to Mayor Palacio in recognition for the stellar work that she has done over the last ten years with Campbellsville University. Dr. Meriwether shared highlights of Palacio’s passion and dedication to education; always prepared to go the extra mile to ensure quality events and student exchanges for the overall benefit of students all over Belize.
 
Joining virtually to share the good works of Mayor Palacio were Dr. Donna Hedgepath, Provost, and Dr. Sharon Hundley, Professor, Chair of Early Childhood Education Programs. Both congratulated and shared their good experiences working with Madame Mayor and wished her well.
Mayor accepted the recognition with words of thankfulness. She took the opportunity to encourage young people to serve and embrace educational opportunities to better themselves, their families, and their communities.
Also highlighted at the ceremony was Miss Kieanna Molina of Our Lady of Guadalupe High School, Belmopan who received Campbellsville University’s Presidential 4-year Scholarship award to attend the university and study Accounting.
 
In attendance were Councilor Pauline Tillett and Hope Amadi who moderated the morning’s ceremony. The audience was graced with performances from saxophonist Allan McCoy and singer/guitarist Newani Martinez.
 
The Belmopan City Council congratulates Madame Mayor Palacio for this esteemed recognition for her service to the youth of Belize.
